Museum curator and local pub history expert, David Thorold, will lead this walking tour of city centre pubs that are featured in the current St Albans Museums & Galleries exhibition "The Inns and Alehouses of St Albans".
This tour will take a look at the historic and newer venues that made up the drinking establishments in the late Victorian age, and how they coped (or failed to cope) in a period that was - much as now - one of great change to society.
David has a passion for the history of local pubs and is a mine of fascinating information, so this promises to be a really interesting and fun trail.
The walk will take approximately 90 minutes in total, which will include two short drink stops at pubs and conclude in a third.
Participation is free of charge.
